A 20+ years 12-Step recovery veteran, Gretchen has worked in the mental health field for more than 15 years. She served as adjunct faculty in the Graduate School of Psychology at Naropa University, is a certified somatic trauma specialist, and is EMDR trained. Certified in 2001 as a sexual assault and domestic violence counselor, Gretchen’s Master’s degree is in body psychotherapy. She is a published author featured in the 2015 Alcoholism Treatment Quarterly Journal, vol. 33(2). Her expertise is helping women move away from anxiety, release resentments, trust themselves and create serenity in all their relationships. She loves co-creating sacred ceremony with clients to access spiritual connection.
Gretchen has extensive experience working with women with co-occurring trauma and addictions, severe PTSD, grief and loss, numerous Adult Child of Alcoholics (ACOA) issues, addicted children, parenting concerns, relationship issues, and women seeking recovery from mind control used in destructive groups, among other challenges. Elders, with whom she has a special affinity, are also among her clients. Additionally, she has worked with people of various genders and sexual orientations, couples and families focusing on relationship dynamics, improving the family system and myriad aspects of parenting. As a lifelong learner, she continually deepens her skills by engaging in professional trainings and personal growth work.
